Greetings from the new Executive Director
Hello Fellow Alumni & Alumnae,
The Bard Center Alumni Association was kind enough to grant me posting privileges as a way to better communicate with everyone about things that are happening at the Bard Center. My goal is to post at least once a month about new initiatives, events, programs and opportunities that may be of interest to you.
On January 1, I joined the Bard Center as the new Executive Director. Like many of you, I completed my MBA at the University of Colorado Denver with an emphasis in Entrepreneurship. I think I completed six of my electives at the Bard Center. Our 2005 Business Plan won the Bioscience Award in the Annual Competition but we lost out overall to Tiffany Espinosa’s first place plan.
I cannot express how wonderful it is to be back at the Bard Center. Some much has changed since I was a student. Tiffany Espinosa is now teaching in our program having just started a new class on Innovation in the Social Sector. There are also four new short courses in Bioscience Entrepreneurship, which can be registered for individually. I wish we’d had these when I was a student.
As a reminder, Bard Center Alumni/Alumnae are always welcome to enter our Business Plan Competition. The first planning meeting will be held at the Bard Center on February 7th from 5:30 to 6:30 PM. Applications are due March 13 with the Business Plan due on May 1.
A Bard Center alumna and past Incubator resident, Sue Goodin who is the Chairman and CEO of the Progressive Health Center is hosting an event on February 7, 2008 from 7:30 to 9:30 AM at the Denver Athletic Club called YOUNGER NEXT YEAR. You can get more information about this event here.
Finally, I would love to hear from you. Please feel free to call or email me (catherine.kunst -at- cudenver.edu) with your thoughts on Bard Center, our programs and your accomplishments since you’ve completed our classes or programs.
